A player is eliminated from the game if he or she controls no armies, leaders, Avatars, or communities at the end of a turn.

Keep in mind that there are 50 players in the game and only one player or a few allies can be the overall victors. Elimination happens to everybody at some time or another. Even the very best of players can be wiped out by the concerted effort of several other players or by a turn of bad luck. If this fate should fall to you, simply chalk it up to experience (which is easy to do since on your last turn we tally how many experience points you have earned; see Player Rankings) and give the game another try. New campaigns are starting all the time, and each one provides fresh challenges.
